Professionalism
Our courses are provided by professional language educators with multiple years of experience in their fields. Our teachers are plurilingual themselves, and while the language you will be learning is their first language, they also have a deep understanding of the difficulties that are encountered when learning a new language.
Flexibility
Every participant receives an individual language portfolio that helps them reflect on, and track their learning progress, together with our self-produced, flexible learning materials based on the Common European Framework for Languages. These materials are accessible 24/7 via our learning platform Moodle, and allow Kurskollektivets teachers to personalise the content in order to meet students’ needs. We believe in adapting our teaching to our learners, not the other way around!
Learning community
Our courses are aimed at those of you who are motivated and independent, but who also enjoy working in cooperative groups, where members support each other. Our teachers will help you learn how to learn and how to develop effective learning strategies and we facilitate an inclusive learning environment. At the same time, our students help Kurskollektivets educators continuously develop their skills and their teaching methods, so that we all improve together.
Translanguaging and plurilingual competence
Kurskollektivet is one of the few language learning providers that truly believes in making the most out of all your language skills by translanguaging, and considers plurilingualism to be an important resource in language learning. Our teachers are plurilingual, and the language you are learning is their native language, so you will learn Norwegian, English or Italian in a structured way with scaffolded first-language support in those languages if needed.
Digital skills
Our teachers have a high level of digital competency, with knowledge of educational technology and language learning in a modern, digital world. We integrate digital resources into our planning, organisation, implementation and evaluation of our teaching in order to support an inclusive learning environment for diverse groups of learners. We work to promote the five basic digital skills in our courses:
