Corsi di Norvegese

The Norwegian course for learners with Italian as their first language is taught in Norwegian with Italian language support. That means that you work with a teacher who has Norwegian as their first language in addition to a teacher who has Italian as their first language. We offer classes at A2-B1 and B1 level, and these courses are funded by IMDi so that they are free for participants.

Format: Hybrid (in-person lessons at Grünerløkka flerbrukshus in Oslo + online)

Prerequisites:

1. You must be resident in Norway for the entire duration of the course.

2. You need to have Norwegian language skills at a minimum level of A2.

3. You must not be entitled to free Norwegian courses through the Introduction Programme, or you must have used up your rights to free training via the introduction programme. Those who have previously participated in Norwegian language training through the Norwegian education scheme, for example, other IMDi courses, can apply again provided that they meet the applicable requirements.

4. Your first language is Italian.

5. You must be able to participate in the lessons. You will find the schedule below.

The course is based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages ​​(CEFR) and the Curriculum for Norwegian language training for adult immigrants, and is suitable for learners who are motivated and independent, but who also want to work together with others. We want our participants to use all their plurilingual resources, and translanguaging is an important pedagogical strategy in our lessons. Therefore, we always map new participants' overall language competence and past experiences with learning languages. Our teachers are plurilingual, and use Norwegian, English, and Italian in their teaching. 

If you are new to our courses, you need to make an appointment for mapping and assessment of your current language skills in order to create your Kurskollektivet Language Portfolio. The meeting is held online with your teachers in Norwegian and Italian.

How to apply for a place:

1. Fill out the application form below.

2. If you meet the requirements, you will be invited to an online meeting. In this meeting, we will map and assess your language skills, motivation and experience with language learning. If you do not meet the requirements, you will be notified by email. If the course you are applying for is full, you could be offered a place on the waiting list.

3. You will receive an email with login credentials for Moodle, where you will find the Kurskollektivet Language Portfolio with some tasks to do in preparation for the meeting:

a) Form: Kurskollektivet Language Portfolio p.1-2.
b) Video: 2-3 minutes where you introduce yourself.
c) Appointment booking: You will get access to book an appointment for mapping and assessment when a) and b) have been submitted.

4. The online meeting (20 minutes).

5. You will be notified if you have a place on the course as soon as possible after the meeting.
