Kurskollektivet’s Intermediate English courses are for learners of all ages who have some experience with English, but want to continue developing their skills.
Our group courses are formed of a minimum of 6 to a maximum of 8 participants. Those who apply to a group course will have a short preliminary meeting with one of our teachers, in order to assess their current language skills. Groups are activated when at least 6 participants on a similar level have been evaluated.
In class, we continue to prioritise the skills that are difficult to practise alone: speaking, pronunciation and listening. We build on previously learned grammar, checking where you might have gaps in your understanding, while also taking on more challenging reading and writing tasks.
Outside of class, you will be given group assignments, where you can practice English with your classmates, and individual tasks you can work on from home, which are aimed at helping you consolidate your learning.
Higher-level authentic materials such as fiction/non-fiction texts, film/TV series extracts, music and podcasts are used together with our self-produced learning materials to help push your English skills further. Our group courses encourage learners to discuss a wide variety of topics of interest, such as travel, business, education, leisure, culture and society, helping you share your ideas and opinions more confidently.
